Zaterdag zes april was er een knalfeest in huize Callao. En wel vanwege het 10-jarig bestaan van Kattuk.nl! Wie erbij was weet ongetwijfeld wat een geweldig feest het geweest is. Maar voor degenen die het om wat voor belachelijke reden dan ook gemist hebben, lees vooral verder.

First things first. Vooraf aan het feest was er een receptie voor alle relaties van Kattuk.nl, waaronder de wethouder, diverse raadsleden, collega’s van Factor W en andere relaties en vertegenwoordigers van andere organisaties. Gewoon gezellig babbelen onder het genot van een hapje en drankje. Arno (hoofdredacteur), Martin (voorzitter bestuur) en wethouder Daan Binnendijk hielden een stel inspirerende speeches waarin mooie woorden werden gesproken en die natuurlijk een daverend applaus opleverden. Aansluitend werd onze promovideo voor het 10jarig bestaan geshowd.
Hierna druppelden de feestgasten langzaamaan binnen. Met een biertje en een stokbroodje in de hand ging het feest rustig van start. Misspoes bracht hier verandering in door knalhard te rocken met covers van onder andere Pink, The Ting Tings en Blondie. De voetjes gingen van de vloer en er werd luidkeels meegeblerd. Tegelijkertijd dartelde interviewster Melanie, samen met haar cameraman Arjan van Kattuk.tv, de zaal door op zoek naar nuchtere en opmerkelijke reacties.
Om 00.00 uur werd het aftellen geblazen, want om middernacht bestond Kattuk.nl officieel tien jaar! Het tiende jaar werd ingeblazen met veel knallen en een glaasje champagne voor de liefhebber.
DJ Toby, DJ Remco en DJ Arno lieten hierna hun skills zien op de draaitafels. Met opmerkelijke muziekkeuzes gingen ze van commerciële meezingers naar dubstep en via snoeiharde hardcore terug naar hippiemuziek. Zelfs (radio)DJ Chris van Beelen liet nog even zien wat hij in huis had.
Intussen werd er gretig gebruik gemaakt van de door Kattuk.nl ingekochte goodies, zoals bellenblazen (het kind in ons allen kwam naar boven) en fluitjes, drinkrietjes en ratelspeeltjes terwijl we ons verscholen achter onze blitsende shuttershades.
Al met al een memorabel feest met veel gezelligheid, lekker eten en drinken, goede muziek en een geweldige sfeer.
En het bleef nog lang onrustig in huize Callao… (Over twee-en-een-half jaar weer?;)
