Gisteravond was het dan eindelijk zover. In Scum vond de finale van de Popprijs Holland Rijnland plaats, na maanden van voorrondes. In deze finale stonden vijf bands uit de regio: Suffix, Incease, Fall Eleven, Colt Nevada en Cut Here. Voor Incease was het een thuiswedstrijd zij waren de enige Kattuk- ers in de wedstrijd die de finale hebben bereikt. Hieronder de review van hoe de bands hebben gepresteerd.

Suffix: Is een goeie hardrock band, de zanger is duidelijk een echte showman. Een van de gitaristen brak gelijk in het begin een snaar. Het was natuurlijk erg vervelend dat dit juist in een finale moest gebeuren, maar daardoor hoorden we wel dat de band super goed op elkaar ingespeeld is. En ze de draad direct weer oppakten nadat hij zijn gitaar gefikst had.
Incease: Deze band is heel muzikaal, persoonlijk vond ik hen de beste op het instrumentale gedeelte. Ook heeft deze band een echte rockchick op bas, een echte eyecatcher van de band en tevens de enigste vrouw die de finale heeft bereikt. De zanger heeft een goeie stem en heel goed voor hun genre, namelijk metal.
Fall Eleven: Een jonge band hiermee bedoel ik dat de bandleden jong zijn. Ze hebben niet veel interactie met elkaar of het publiek. De zanger heeft een mooie stem kwam vooral tot zijn recht in de ballad. Zij waren daarmee ook de enige band die een gevoelige kant lieten horen. Hun genre is te omschrijven als rock.
Colt Nevada: Ze spelen nog maar één jaartje samen in deze formatie maar dat was niet te horen. Wel opvallend is dat ze niet heel veel zanggedeeltes hebben. Hun genre is alternatieve rock. Er was weinig interactie met het publiek maar de songs en sound klonken lekker.
Cut here: Erg enthousiast het plezier spat van het podium af, ook erg leuk om naar te kijken. Wederom een jonge band, klinkt lekker, leuke melodie. Zeer verrassend optreden als je naar hun kijkt krijg je vanzelf een glimlach op je gezicht. Ze namen het publiek mee in hun flow.
Al deze bands hebben hun best gedaan en alles gegeven voor de jury lag de moeilijke taak om een winnaar te kiezen. Zij gaven aan dat dit zeer moeilijk was en dat ze aardig verdeeld waren. De presentator vroeg alle deelnemende bands het podium op te komen en gelukkig maakte hij het niet spannender dan nodig. Colt Nevada heeft de popprijs gewonnen. En de prijs is niet mis! Zij hebben gewonnen drie dagen studiotijd bij The Box Records in Katwijk voor de opname en productie van 500 cd’s, bandmanagement door Gasoline Concerts en een betaald primetime optreden tijdens het Plugpop festival.
