De jonge Katwijkse punkrockband No Resistance heeft gisterenavond de 10e Muziekschool Night of the Bands in Scum gewonnen. Zij winnen een optreden op het hoofdpodium van het Noordzee Zomerfestival De publieksprijs ging naar The Microwaves, waarvan vooral de energieke frontman grote indruk maakte op de aanwezigen. Zij winnen een dagdeel gratis oefenen in The Box Studios.
De jury, bestaande uit Mary Prado (zangeres Driftkickers), Bert de Geus (eigenaar The Box Studio’s), Arno van den Berg (Kattuk.nl/Popprijs H-R) en Leen van Velzen (Noordzee Zomerfestival), had het er moeilijk mee. De andere bands waren ook zeker de moeite waard. De bands Lekker Fris!, Hulldown, de Queen Tribute Band en The Red Leaves lieten zich allen van hun beste kant zien met een gedegen en kwalitatief goed optreden.
Al met al was het een topavond met leuke bands, goede muziek en met 100-150 bezoekers gezellig druk ook nog. Goed om te zien dat er weer een hele nieuwe lichting Katwijkse bands klaar om door te stomen. Nice!
