Afgelopen vrijdag speelde de nu al wel gerenommeerde coverband Quibuz in de Blauwen Bock. Wij van Kattuk.nl zijn even om een hoekje wezen kijken en hebben wat foto’s gemaakt. Om even een korte beschrijving te geven van de avond: Het podium was erg krap, “Sinterklaas” kwam langs en er werd een leuke setlist gespeeld. Hieronder een impressie van de avond + een aantal foto’s.
De Blauwen Bock is niet heel groot. Dat kon de band ook wel merken want ze stonden bijna letterlijk tegen elkaar aan. Vooral voor Ruben was de kleine ruimte hinderlijk want hij springt het liefst in het rond tijdens het spelen. Nu moest hij zich inhouden wat geloof ik nog best lastig voor hem was!
Ook Daniel stond erg in een hoekje gepropt. Door een ongelukkige beweging ging zijn box tijdens de eerste set stuk.
Qua uitvoering had ik toch meer interactie met het publiek verwacht, juist omdat de plek van het optreden zo klein was. Celeste en Ruben hadden bijvoorbeeld even van het podium kunnen stappen. Maar goed, dit is een keuze die je kunt maken om tijdens het optreden wat speelsheid te creëren.
Wat wel leuk was, was het uitnodigen van “Sinterklaas.” Al ontbrak er wel het een en ander aan de outfit van de Sint 😛 was het grappig om te zien.
De setlist zit goed in elkaar en is gevarieerd. Nummers als: I’m Just a Girl – No Doubt, Ring of Fire – Johnny Cash en I’m a believer – The Monkees. Af en toe klonken de drums wat of. Dit was vooral te horen tijdens de nummers: Electric van Go Back to the Zoo en Paradise City van Guns ‘N Roses. Misschien had Michel zijn dag niet? Verder hebben de leden van Quibuz allen een goede instrument beheersing en ook de zang is sterk vooruit gegaan.
Aan het begin kon je merken dat er voornamelijk vrienden en familie naar het optreden toe waren gekomen. Later kwamen daar nog enkele andere toeschouwers bij.
Kortom
Het was een zeer vermakelijk optreden met een leuke setlist. Quibuz is goed op weg om een van de betere coverbands te worden. Laten we hopen dat in verloop van tijd meer mensen op de optredens af komen.
Quibuz staat volgende week op serious party in scum! Dat wordt natuurlijk onwijs leuk, kan ook niet anders want kattuk.nl organiseerd het! Naast quibuz staan: paper planes, de driftkickers en nono!
