Afgelopen woensdagmiddag vond de officiële aftrap van JOGG (Jongeren op Gezond Gewicht) plaats op sportpark Nieuw Zuid van voetbalvereniging Quick Boys. Het doel van Jongeren op Gezond Gewicht is gezond eten en bewegen voor jongeren (0-19 jaar) gemakkelijk en aantrekkelijk te maken.
De combinatiefunctionarissen Sport van het project Come4Sports van Welzijnskwartier spelen hier een belangrijke rol in. Come4Sports is al een aantal jaar bezig sport, beweging, gezonde voeding en een gezonde leefstijl onder kinderen en jongeren te bevorderen door het aanbieden van tal van activiteiten, workshops en toernooien. Zij waren natuurlijk aanwezig bij de aftrap met activiteiten zoals: voetvolley, latje trap en pannaboarding met drie velden. Met groot succes, zo’n 60 a 70 kinderen deden actief en met veel plezier mee.
Daarnaast hadden de Come4Sports medewerkers samen met de jongeren van het Kookcafe van Factory De Schuit een filmpje gemaakt dat liet zijn hoe makkelijk het eigenlijk is om een verse en gezonde maaltijd te bereiden.

De uiteindelijke aftrap werd verricht door wethouder Gerard Mostert, Ton van Houten, voorzitter raad van bestuur Zorg & Zekerheid en Sjaak de Gouw, directeur GGD Hollands Midden. Zij zetten eerst hun handtekening op een gele bal gevolgd door handtekeningen van alle bij het project betrokken partijen. Daarna gingen ze met de bal de pannakooi in om samen met de kinderen een balletje te trappen en zo het project ‘in beweging’ te zetten.
Als afsluiting werd onder het genot van een hapje en een drankje nog nagepraat in de businessclub van Quick Boys. Ook hier was aan gezonde voeding gedacht. Ditmaal geen bier, bitterballen en frikandellen, maar klein gesneden verse groentehapjes van onder andere komkommer, tomaat en paprika, met verse vruchtensappen. Gezond, voedzaam en erg lekker! De voorzitter van Quick Boys had eerder al aangegeven dat ook zij al bezig zijn om meer aandacht te geven aan gezonde voeding in de sportkantine. Een goed voorbeeld dat zeker navolging van andere (sport)verenigingen verdient.
Natuurlijk hebben niet alleen de Come4Sports medewerkers een rol in het JOGG-project, ook ouders en gezondheidsprofessionals moeten gaan investeren in een gezonde leefstijl van kinderen en jongeren. In samenwerking met scholen, jongerenwerk, The Factory, wijkorganisaties, sportclubs, ondernemers, woningbouwverenigingen en kinderopvangcentra gaat gewerkt worden aan betere sport-, beweeg- en speelfaciliteiten en meer aandacht voor voeding en beweging bij de Katwijkse jeugd.
