Op nieuwjaarsdag 2012 gingen maar liefst 1000 dappere duikers het nieuwe jaar fris in, door een duik te nemen in de Katwijkse Noordzee. Een evenaring van het record van vorig jaar! Ideale omstandigheden
Met een temperatuur van 11 graden was het een prachtige dag om te duiken. Ondanks de straffe noordwesten wind was de temperatuur voor vele duikers ideaal en de zeetemperatuur van 7 graden maakte het tot en van de ‘warmste’ duiken van de afgelopen jaren.
Goed doel
De opbrengst van de Katwijkse Nieuwjaarsduik 2012 (in totaal 2000 euro) komt dit jaar geheel ten goede aan de KRV-jongeren van het project ‘Bouwen in Ecuador’, onder de vlag van Worlds Servants. Zij zullen in de zomer van dit jaar afreizen naar het ontwikkelingsland Ecuador om daar een school op te bouwen.
